Ways to Keep Your Wedding Guests Warm in Every Season

In the market for a winter wedding? You’ll want to keep your guests’ comfort in mind as you plan your special day. This article provides ideas for keeping your wedding party warm for your indoor or outdoor winter wedding.

Fully Enclosed Tent

The best choice of rental tents for an outdoor winter wedding is a fully enclosed frame tent with sidewalls and commercial grade outdoor heaters. Your guests will stay as warm as they would inside a building. We don’t recommend using an open-sided tent for obvious reasons. J&J Tent Rentals has a variety of sizes to choose from like our 40’x140’ tent that seats 500 guests. We can assist you in choosing the most efficient, quiet, and powerful heat lamps for winter weddings.

Warm Gifts and Warming Station

A blanket, pashmina shawl, and scarves make excellent gifts for guests. Male guests can enjoy a toasty warm scarf in a colorful pattern while female guests can enjoy a feminine print scarf or shawl. This is always a welcome gesture that guests can enjoy for the rest of the winter.

If you’re planning a shabby-chic or vintage wedding, consider displaying the scarves and shawls in a vintage suitcase with a sign inviting them to take one.

Don’t forget to gift your bridesmaids matching pashminas. These are very stylish for winter weddings, and it’s a much appreciated gesture for your wedding party.

Hand warmers make nice party gifts. Simply place them in boiling water a few minutes ahead of time and your guests will enjoy the warmth. Some are reusable, and you can always find packs of disposable hand warmers, too. However, if you rent a wedding tent like the ones at J&J Tent and Party Rentals, you won’t need hand warmers. Our powerful heat lamps warm any cold day in January or February for your outdoor winter wedding.

Consider setting up a warming station at your reception, so guests can pick up a blanket or shawl and hang out with other guests, too.

Hot Cocoa and Coffee

Send your guests home with the perfect evening treat—gourmet hot cocoa or a dessert coffee. Guests can create their own coffee or hot chocolate drinks with a bar of flavoured toppings and syrups at the ready.

Warm Wines and Ciders

Mulled wine is an old tried and true favorite for winter weddings. Try a mulled cider with orange wedges or a mulled chai wine. Younger guests can enjoy a cup of warm apple cider or juice.

Open Fireplace

An open fireplace is sure to warm your guests on a cold day. Check to see which wedding venues offer open fireplaces. Using it during an evening wedding will give your winter wedding a more romantic spark. Guests will love to chill by the fireplace, but make sure there’s a fireguard in place to prevent children from getting near the flame.
