When everyone you care about is under one roof (or tent), this should be the best day of your life — and why shouldn’t your guests feel it too? Spreading that loving feeling with your guests will have them walking away with a similar wedding day high!
Here are four ways to make your guests feel appreciated and revel in the magic that is your day!
Don’t Keep Your GuestS Waiting
Being considerate of your guests is everything! If photographers will keep your guests waiting, offer something entertaining like photo booths, a live painter, or a musician. These are all great ideas to keep something festive moving while pictures are being taken. Most importantly, feed them! Don’t keep your guests awkwardly standing around. Instead have a thoughtful cocktail hour with light hors d’oeuvres. This is the perfect time to break out something festive, like passed appetizers. Set the tone right after the “I Dos” and get the party started!
Have a Special Dance
A great way to recognize all the happily married couples at your wedding is to dedicate a special song to them. Let your DJ know your intentions ahead of time and pick out a meaningful song. Then, ask all the married couples to come up on the dance floor to dance as your DJ counts up from 1 year of marriage until only one couple is remaining. Not only will everyone get to share a special dance with their spouse, but you’ll get to find out who at your wedding has been married the longest and make them feel equally special.
Personalized Table Assignments
Some couples take the time or assign a friend to create personalized table assignment cards. Once you have all the RSVPs, you can create table seating cards that include a picture of the guest from a memory you’ve shared with them. You could also have cards that show the person’s relationship with the couple, how you met the guest, etc. Adding this personal touch will make your guests feel incredibly special without you having to say a word.
End the Night with Something Unexpected
It’s okay to forgo party favor items that will likely end up on the ground. Typically, you can count on 40 – 50% of your guests at the last hour of your party. Treat them to some ice cream or chicken and waffles (depending on your taste and style). You can even personally man the ice cream stand or breakfast booth to personally thank your guests for coming. They won’t be expecting it and what a great way to send them on their way with a treat in hand.
