3 Tips for the Day Before Your Wedding

Be Prepared for Your Dream Wedding

Everyone dreams of how their wedding will be. Men as well as women do their fair share of daydreaming about their wedding days, too. Both of you need a checklist to make sure everything is where it should be and in the order you wish it to be.

First things first… Don’t freak out! Wedding day jitters are real and even the case of cold feet has hit a bride or groom from time to time. But that’s not going to happen to you because you’re level-headed people, right? Yes, as long as you’ve got your ducks in order by creating a list and plan. You’ve got your wedding planner and wedding plan already, but now you need a checklist of last-minute items and errands to cross off. This will save you a lot of frustration on your big day and allow you the freedom to enjoy your special day.

Cold Feet

Some brides and grooms become overwhelmed with wedding planning and their own emotions during the whole process and get cold feet. (This doesn’t just happen in the movies) It happens more often than you think, and sometimes for good reason. Just remember that “cold feet” is a normal but exaggerated reaction to wedding stress. If you do experience cold feet, share your feelings with your soon-to-be partner. Be honest, but non-confrontational. They may have similar feelings. Meditation, massages, and premarital counseling may help alleviate the stress as well. Being honest is far better than having a bad case of wedding jitters ruin your big day.

Don’t Eat Certain Foods the Night Before

You may want to stay away from the bean dip or Raisin Bran the night before your wedding. No unforeseen sounds on your wedding day except the fluttering of the white doves at the ceremony, please. Stay away from spicy foods, too. No one wants a bad case of indigestion on their wedding day. If you do experience some stomach discomfort on your wedding day, take an antacid as early as possible. Pepcid is one of the most effective antacids on the market. Do drink lots of water, just not a couple of hours before the ceremony.

Photography and Dress

You’ll want to remove your wedding dress from the bag early to avoid wrinkling. Don’t forget the veil and hair pins, too. Lay out props for the photographer if needed.

You’ll want to check with the venues where you’ll want to be photographed to make sure that you’ll have access to the specific areas (for photos) and things are ready to go as planned. Email your family and friends about the wedding photo session so that everyone will know to stick around after the ceremony for pictures. You’ll also want to remind them before the ceremony on the day of the wedding about this.

Now that you’ve prepared yourself for your big day, relax and get plenty of sleep and enjoy your big day!
