Planning your wedding so you can look the best
This wedding season is predicted to be the busiest year on record and dress designers across the nation are riding the unexpected wave of weddings. They are embracing the idea that there needs to be a change when it comes to wedding dress trends! In fact, many are opting out of the old traditional-style wedding dresses and leaning towards the idea of a new, bolder style that speaks volume.
As a 2021 bride (or groom) it is essential to look your absolute best walking down the aisle. At J&J Tent and Party Rentals, we wanted to make sure that you look stunning this season, so we created a list of the Top 5 Wedding Dress Trends of 2021.
Cape Dresses
If you’re a diva and you know it, get a cape! This fashionable style is pairable with just about any other style dress, making any intended fashion statement goal achievable. Show off your versatility by being daring and rocking your cape as a statement, or add a cape to your dress for a more modest church setting in place of a veil to modernize your look. Below are a few dress-types that the cape can be pulled off with:
- Short dresses
- Ball gowns
- Strapless
- One shoulder
Short Dresses
Short dresses are definitely “in” and while head turning and jaw dropping, they can be just as appropriate as the traditional go-to dress cut. Strut and flaunt your short dress at the main event or reception in sheer, fit-to-flair, beaded, with feathers; or, be low key with floral patterns or long-sleeved at a private eloping–the choices are limitless!
Layered Skirts
For those brides who prefer to stick with a more traditional wedding dress design, a layered skirt might be the best option. Floaty, flirty, and fabulous, a layered wedding gown allows you to showcase your sense of style while also keeping things elegant and formal. From a strapless sweetheart cut to a tighter fitting mermaid with lace bodice, layered dresses can add an element of class while also being beautiful.
Subtle Sparkle
If you want your dress to pop, but don’t necessarily want something too loud, subtle sparkles might be for you. This is definitely a step outside of the orthodox wedding dress, but it is a tasteful alteration that will leave your guests in awe. Here are some ideas to add some razzle dazzle for your special day:
- Sequin, whether it be v-neckline, off shoulder, or another
- Beaded embroidery like ombre pearl and/or crystal
- Diamanté drop crystals
Ruffles
For a fairytale-like wedding vibe, ruffles might be your cup of tea. Ruffles on wedding dresses make the dress full and fluffy, adding to the magical feeling of your special day. Here are a few styles that pair well with ruffled wedding dresses:
- Sweetheart neckline ball gowns
- Tiered ruffle skirts
- Bodice and handkerchief skirts
- Country style organza
